Black-headed Gull

I love this image. In May 2023 I was staying in Hunstanton on a birdwatching trip and came across this image - a fiery sunset which just caught the water's edge and a gull sitting on the railings looking out to sea. I knew I had to paint it. What I really like about this image is that the colours of the image in broad daylight adjust when its on the wall at home. A lot of paintings turn monochrome in evening light. The sun seems to go down on this one! If you compare the two photographs above you can see what I mean!
