Cows and Shade

This is a watercolour and ink picture 36cm x 25cm unframed on 300gsm Bockingford paper. I saw a herd of cows on the roadside through a row of trees. The contrast of bright sunshine on the cows and the deep shade of the trees on a sunny day really appealed to me. The resulting picure is peaceful and I find it interesting to have a portrait of cows. The main painting is watercolour with tiny highlights of gouache. The framing trees and grass hade in the foreground is with black ink
