Evening Avocet

This is another in my new series of bird silhouette paintings with an emphasis on the outline rather than the feather detail (see other examples such as the Little Grebe and Cormorant). I have used a referencee photo I took atTitchwell RSPB one evening. I like the motion in this individual and the reflection in the mud.
 
The painting is in watercolour with subtle shades of rose and orange in the wash for the mud
