Peregrine!

I painted this from a visit to Cemlyn Bay in Anglesey. There was a strong backlight and suddenly the nesting Sandwich Terns and Black-headed Gull went up in a swirl! Checking around we found a Peregrine sitting on a gate post in the far distance. It's presence repeatedly spooked the birds. You could imagine the confusion for a predator hurtling in to the mayhem as targets overlapped, turned and dipped. I've tried to capture the spirit of the scene in this painting.
